He was mysterious, like an archaeopteryx crouching in a fossil. Even when he met Jeong-min, he often called someone up. Such attitude that he used to have hurt her feelings so much.

"Who are you calling up whenever you meet me?"
"I'm just calling my friend."
"Lets meet together sometime. Why dont you arrange the meeting?"
"No. There is no necessity for doing so."

He was very embarrassed at the moment. Also, his attitude seemed to admit Jung-min's guess completely.

One day, they got on a train for Chun-cheon, bathing in the morning sun. They spent a day at the So-yang Riverside where fresh wind blew. They headed for the Chun-cheon station to go back to Seoul. There were some dried flowers holding an old legend in front of the station building. It began to rain from the cloudy winter sky.

He took Jeong-mi to a public phone booth. He called someone and gave her the telephone receiver.

Who are you calling? Whos speaking?
Just answer the telephone.

Leaving Jung-min behind, he went into the rain out of the booth. She got the receiver in a moment of bewilderment. She heard some faint voice of a woman from the receiver.

Hello, I'm out at this moment. Please leave your name or phone number. I'll return your call when I come back. Beep-

Then she heard some deep voice of a man.

"Jeong-min! It's me. My mom has a beautiful voice, doesnt she? My mom recorded this message in the last spring. Now she is in heaven. Every time I hear her voice, I feel as if she stayed with me. Thats why I used to call my home whenever I missed my mom.

Jeong-min approached him who was sitting in front of the flower garden in the rain.

Why didn't you say before?
Jeong-min, I think I'm still so young. I still believe she'll be back soon."

His eyes were full of tears, and he sighed deeply. The missing of his mom was flying to the sky through his deep sigh like a flock of birds.
