A man had three friends. The first friend was the one whom
he loved and relied upon most. The second was the one whom
he liked but not as much as the first. The third was the one
whom he thought as his friend, but he was not that interested
in.
One day, he made a long journey. He asked the first friend
to go with him, but the first one refused to do so with no
reason. When he asked his second friend, the friend said,
"I'll go with you to the gate of the castle, but no more."
Lastly, he asked the third one to go with him together. The
friend said, "If you want me to go with you, I'll surely
do. It is one's friend who would hold up through difficulties
together with him whatever they may be."
We can see three kinds of friends in the story above. The
first friend is property. No matter how much you love and
treasure, you have to leave the one behind when you make a
long journey of death. The second one is your loved one. He
would go with you to the gate of your death, but he makes
his own way after that point. The third one is a good deed.
You cannot see it at ordinary times, but it goes in company
with you even after death.
