He was a soldier, his wife was a telephone counselor. As most of two-paycheck couple did, they have lived busily.
As time went by, the wife came asleep because she had pain on her eyes.
“Shouldn’t you come to hospital?”
“I was just tired. It may become all right.”
Two months later, she went to hospital and was told of inflammation of the cornea.
The doctor told that it had better to get a quick operation because of a wide-spread inflammation.
He added that it would be all right.
The wife got an operation one week later.
The doctor told that the time required to overcome is about three days.
He cooked for her appetite and read a book when she was bored.
He was happy as if he was a good husband after long time.
One week later, she removed the bandage.
“Can you see me?”
“No, I cannot see you.”
The doctor told that she would see a few hours later.
But she cannot see the world even one hour, a day later.
The lovable wife cannot see the world any longer.
She was getting dark but recognized her situation three months later.
“Honey, I want to work again.” told the wife.
“What are you saying ! Lave the matter to my discretion.”
“But until when do I have to sit down here?”
“But it may be difficult…”
“It’s just telephone counselor. I can do that.”
He thanked her mind to approve the world, not the mind to work.
The company didn’t refuse it, but the commuting was difficult to her.
The working places were the other way around, so he couldn’t go with her.
They decided to commute for a month. They could go to the bus stop together thanks to the going straight bus to the company.
But the way from the bus stop to the company was the matter.

She used to sit behind the driver.

“Pardon? who..?”
“Didn’t you know that? Your husband used to watch you getting off the bus on the opposite side. Then he used to return after watching you going in the company safely.”
