Lecture 1 - What is Flash? |
| |
So far, Macromedia launches Flash, an essential
ingredient of professional web design, in up to version 5.0.
Because Flash homepage is operated mainly on animations, graphic
elements are needed more than anything else. Although not
having been through professional design courses, we will take
a careful look at each items rendered by Flash in order to
approach Flash more easily. It would be not easy for you to
present your work to others even if you have practiced Flash
for several days. Therefore, do not try to do all things in
a time. Just organize a plan before you set down to work,
always imagining Flash image screen you are going to draw.

1.
About Flash file format |
| |
FLA
|
| This is the file that must be kept,
for it saves the source of Flash work. Open this
file when you need to make additional upgrade to
Flash. You are supposed to keep this file safely
if you do not want others to steal your work of
Flash movie. Extension is *.fla. |
|
|
SWF
|
| The second image is swf file, generated
at test movie (Ctrl + Enter). This file, also called
shockwave file, uploads flash movie directly on
the Internet. You can see this file without plug-in
in 4.0 or upper version of Explorer, but need to
install plug-in under 4.0 version. |
|
|
EXE
|
| The third file is an independent
application program file. Flash movie file (*.swf)
is only executable with a separate plug-in installed,
and this independently executing file will automatically
contain plug-in, so that you can see Flash without
plug-in. Though people do not frequently use this
file, as it is a large sized, nevertheless it is
helpful for those who are going to make CD-ROM to
put this into the initial screen. |
|
|
HTML
|
| The fourth file is html document
found in Internet browser. Note that you also have
to upload relevant swf file when you upload this
kind of file on the Internet. Html document does
not contain swf file in itself, but just links to
swf file. |
|
|
| |
All
the above files are produced automatically by publication through
File/Publish function. Moreover, you may generate other animated
file, picture file, or Gif file, in Publish Setting. |
